Our unique and rich heritage

1950

ORIENT was launched on July 13, 1950 renting the former Toyo Tokei Co., Ltd. Hino factory, and began the production of wristwatches right away that year.

1958

Royal Orient This was Orient’s first practical device with water resistance specifications.

1967

Fineness automatic day-date watch was one of the slimmest automatic Japanese-made watches created between 1967 to 1974, during a period of thin dress watch popularity.

1976

Touchtron Model with an LED module jointly developed with Sharp. This was the first watch in the world which an LED lights up and the time is displayed when the case is touched.
